We believe that Asbury UMC is one of the best kept secrets in Warwick, Rhode Island.
We are slightly off the beaten path (see map/directions information), but once you get here we
think you will be pleased. God has blessed us with very handsome church facilities and beautiful
grounds. But more than that, the people are terrific! They are friendly, welcoming folks who are
earnestly working at being good disciples of Jesus Christ. Asbury UMC has a rich history (see history page) spanning almost 75 years, which we
view as a springboard to a bright and exciting future. We work hard to stay Christ-centered,
biblically on target, and open to God’s will through our collective discernment of the prompts of
the Holy Spirit. Having said that, I must add that we are a people accustomed to rolling up our
sleeves to do God’s work in the world, because faith without works is dead faith. We have worship experiences and Bible studies that are designed to offer something to
everybody, and while we don’t pressure people to serve the church, there are many opportunities
to use your God-given gifts to the glory of our Creator, Sustainer and Redeemer.
Our congregation is growing and consists of people of all ages and backgrounds,
including families, singles, and couples - all with varying past religious traditions and
affiliations. Methodism is an expression of the historic Christian faith that comes with a warm heart,
an openness to God’s revelation in Christ, and a focus on personal holiness that, combined, seek
to make the world a better place for everyone. So, why not plan a visit soon and see for yourself
